Here is the first, primitive mock-up of the DCA hemisphere. This is the real copper bowl, however, the banding and brass spiral are scrap pieces. Before I committed to this design idea I wanted to make sure it would look as good in real life as it did in the drawings and the CAD. I think it holds up well. I plan on hollow forming some sheet metal onto the bands to give them some more depth and make them a bit more aggressive. The brass spiral here is flat, they way it will be on the final piece, unlike the CAD drawings where it was a rod. The spiral will also be bigger and attach to a bracket on the end but this give a good idea of what it will look like in real life.
Also, the gears arrived. They are black and should look nice on the copper rod.


Where are the big f-in wires (er-steam tubes?) pumping into that thing? Time machines take 1.21 gigawatts of power you know.
