Project Vulcan is NASA and DOE coloration with Perdue University to quantify and visualize North America carbon dioxide emissions on an 10 km scale.
Here is a recently release video of their efforts. I remember when I posted a video that visualized a day of air traffic in US I wondered about the corresponding levels of CO2.
One thing that strikes me about this video is the diurnal cycle. It give me very Lovelock’ian thoughts about about humans as a giant collective organism breathing toxic gas. It’s amazing that the diurnal cycle that is biochemically generated in our brain ripples thought the entire globe.
They plan on taking this project global with Hestia.
