My buddy Ben has this great video on his blog, Backbone Metals.
The black and white film does not do this justice. Keep in
mind that the huge glowing thing they are working is around
2300 degrees F.
The best part of this film is towards the end as the crew
“team strikes” to rivet the shackle pin into the end of
the anchor. Watch as they swing heavy sledge hammers
then switch to small hand hammers for the detail
work. Oh yea, that massive machine is a steam hammer!
It makes me realize what utter wimps were are today with our plasma cutters and mechanical extruder’s.
